A sports massage reduces the heart rate and blood pressure increases blood circulation and lymph flow. It also reduces muscle tension, improves flexibility, and relieves pain and helps to prevent injuries for runners. The New York City half marathon is coming up in March 2011. I've been a runner for over 10 years and I've experienced first hand the contant damage running can do the knees back, joints and spine. I started getting sports massages regularly and can also contest to the fact that they really help reduce the pain and swelling. In addition it speeds up the recovery process allowing me to push myself. I recommend every runner include a recovery and management regimate of sports massages after and before a marathon or long run. Also as during the training process. The flexibility this company offers is superb. I've use several of their therapist, they were well experienced on dealing with my physical issues and limitations.
